Standby Technology

This technology is the simplest, and least expensive topology for a UPS system.  While these units are typically the cheapest, they offer the least amount of line isolation and typically have a  2 - 7 millisecond response time.  This may or may not be a problem depending on the nature of the equipment to be protected .....

Line-Interactive Technology

This technology is the next step up in UPS technology.  These units are typically very efficient, offer a sine wave output, and are relatively inexpensive.  Although they offer about the same amount of line isolation as the off-line UPS's, they typically have a  zero millisecond response time.  Output voltage regulation is much better in this type of UPS .....
